Yep, I can already hear the high-pitched whining out there. But before you hurt your fingers looking up the second amendment again, I said open carry, and that does not include concealed carry.

Open carry enthusiasts are a very small portion of the population. A larger portion of the population approves of open carry, but doesn't do it.

Right now, a lot of businesses, even in Lubbock, are being put on the spot and are being threatened by both sides if they allow or don't allow open carry. It really puts business in a no-win situation. Unfortunately, one side or the other will eventually force the issue.

I'm very comfortable around guns. I have no problem being in a room around any type of firearm. My problem is the type of people (that I've seen) that insist on making it an issue.

I don't want to be around the narcissists and the wannabe heroes. My friends who carry, and a lot of them do, aren't interested in anyone checking out or knowing they have weapons. They have them for protection, and they aren't looking to make it known or spur any discussion.

I think it sucks pretty much across the board that a few people who want to show off their guns are making nearly every business in Texas deal with one more piece of unnecessary regulation.

In short, enjoy your firearms and your freedom. Just don't be a dick about it.
