On July 4th, Celebrate the Festival of Tubular Meats
For two years now, I've hosted a celebration called the Festival of Tubular Meats, which Heathen loves to just call a "sausage party."
Some of you will celebrate bacon at every opportunity. Myself, I like sausage. I'm well aware that it's all probably pig lips and other meats that we should not speak of, but I love it.
This past year we celebrated with dinner sausage, cheese links, hot links, jalapeño/cheese sausages, and hot dogs.
I warm them all up in a big pan of beer then char them up a bit on the girl. We do wraps, buns and sometimes just serve them up on a plate.
Last year, I added a new feature to The Festival of Tubular Meats. It's called The Glorification of the Iced Milk. (That would be ice cream sundaes with all of the toppings.)
Hey, you're probably cooking hot dogs for the 4th of July anyways, why not make it a Festival of Tubular Meats? It's the "sausage party" that everyone is invited to.
