Beatles legend Paul McCartney rocked Seattle on April 17, bringing out a hometown hero during his show. Near the end of McCartney’s massive 39-song set, Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic joined McCartney and his band onstage to jam “Helter Skelter.”

McCartney is currently traveling across North America for his ‘One on One’ tour. His set has been jam packed full of Beatles and Wings songs as well as choice cuts from his solo career.

The legendary musician developed a friendship with Krist Novoselic and the surviving members of Nirvana back in 2012 when he found himself in an impromptu jam session with Novoselic, Dave Grohl and Pat Smear. This resulted in the collaborative original track, “Cut Me Some Slack,” which was first performed at the 12-12-12 concert for Hurricane Sandy relief and won a Grammy for Best Rock Song in 2014.

Seattle fans freaked out at the sight of Novoselic gracing McCartney’s stage and the Nirvana legend shared his gratitude via Twitter:

McCartney tweeted out a beautiful shot of the two onstage in Seattle:
