Nine Inch Nails have been undergoing some changes behind the scenes that have affected the servicing of their various vinyl pre-releases, but in offering an apology to those fans who have been waiting for their deliveries, Trent Reznor also dropped an interesting piece of intel about new music.

Concluding his note to those who have delayed pre-orders, Reznor explained, "Did you know there's a new top-secret Nine Inch Nails EP that will be released before the first shows we do this summer? Did you know Not the Actual Events was the first part of a trilogy of related EPs that will be released about 6-8 months apart? Now you do. More information on this shortly."

For those now doing the math in their heads, Nine Inch Nails will return to the stage July 23 in Los Angeles as the headliner for the FYF Fest. The band has also signed on for the Panorama Festival July 30 in New York and Chicago's Riot Fest on Sept. 15.

As for those vinyl, the Nine Inch Nails online store is back up and running and there is a place for support questions on the site. Check here for the online store.

In other Nine Inch Nails news, both Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will be involved in the upcoming HBO documentary series The Defiant Ones. The four-part documentary will debut on July 9 telling the story of the improbable partnership between Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre. Trent Reznor will be among those interviewed, while Ross joined with Leopold Ross and Claudia Sarne to compose music for the documentary.
