New Music Showcase: Exclusive Premieres From Binary Code, Letters From the Fire + Rival City Heights
Welcome to Loudwire’s New Music Showcase! Each week we’re giving space to some up-and-coming acts to premiere their new music, whether it be music videos, lyric videos, songs or even album streams. The New Music Showcase runs each Thursday and this week we’re checking out a heavy track from Binary Code as well as brand new videos from Letters From the Fire and Rival City Heights.
Binary Code, "Dark Meditations" - Song Premiere
New Jersey progressive metal outfit Binary Code are ramping up to the release of their new album Moonsblood, and they've teamed up with Loudwire to bring you the exclusive premiere of their new song "Dark Meditations" from the disc. The five-piece of guitarists Jesse Zuretti and PJ Spilletti, bassist Connor Appleton, drummer Sean Vizcaino and new vocalist Oded Weinstock kick it off with a dark and foreboding opening before digging in with some brutally heavy and sludgy metal.
Founding guitarist Jesse Zuretti says of their disc, "Moonsblood is a time capsule for Binary Code. Not only was the album written sporadically throughout the course of some of the hardest times I've personally had to endure, but also some of the most enlightening and positive moments of my life. The instrumentation perfectly conveys many of the instances of that period and instantly brings me back to those moments. It was amazing to see how everything fell into place with Oded joining the band. It became clear in an instant that he was a missing element to the sound we evolved into."
The disc is due May 24 and you can currently pre-order the album at this location. And keep an eye out as Binary Code are planning to issue a guitar playthrough video for "Dark Meditations" in the coming weeks.
Letters From the Fire, "Give In To Me" - Video Premiere
Straight out of the San Francisco Bay Area, Letters From the Fire are ready to give you the first taste of new music. The band just added new vocalist Alexa Kabazie to go along with the lineup of Mike Keller, Cameron Stucky, Clayton Wages and Brian Sumwalt. Here, we're exclusively premiering the band's new clip for "Give In To Me."
Guitarist Mike Keller tells us, "We are very excited to see the rebirth of LFTF with Alexa. She really owned her performance and solidified her place as the frontperson for this band." You can see for yourself as the band mixes a driving performance of the song with Alexa's sultry and powerful vocals. Meanwhile, the clip also finds a sexy yet dangerous vixen taunting a hooded figure tied to a chair. Watch it all play out in the clip below.
The song, which focuses on a person who has an addiction of giving into their dark side, will be featured on their forthcoming album, Worth the Pain. Stay tuned to the band's website for more details on their disc and touring in the coming months.
Rival City Heights, "Take It Back" - Video Premiere
It's time to get your stomp-clap on, as Rival City Heights are unleashing their new video for "Take It Back." The clip, directed by Dale "Rage" Resteghini, is an infectious rocker that should have you pumping your fists along.
The band features onetime X-Factor finalist Jeff Gutt, who decided to put a band together rather than going the solo route. The band is rounded out by guitarists Gary Pittel and Cyamak Ashtiani, bassist KC Jenkins and drummer Will Hunt.
Gutt tells us of the clip, "We're real fans of the stylistic work 'Rage' has done over the years and the artists he's worked with. 'Take It Back' is a real throwback to some of our favorite videos -- we love the bling, girls and grillz. It's a big, fun anthem that has a youthful angst. The cheerleaders give it a sexy tongue-in-cheek vibe. And whenever you have the chance to have your own cheerleaders, you do that! The concept is raw and gritty and the end result is just outstanding. We like doing our own thing, the unexpected, and keep people guessing."
Rival City Heights are planning to release a 5-song digital EP this June, produced by Matt Squire. But in the interim, you can pick up the "Take It Back" single via iTunes and stay tuned to the band's website for touring details.
Come back next Thursday when we'll bring you another batch of exclusive premieres from up-and-coming acts right here on Loudwire's New Music Showcase.
