EA Sports has named the eight finalists that are vying for the cover of its next NCAA Football game. BCS champions Alabama lead the field, taking in over 60,000 votes.

Rounding out the top eight, in descending order, are Texas A&M, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Notre Dame, Georgia, and Florida State. An estimated 1.7 million votes were cast, and voting for the next round, which will trim the finalists to four schools, starts today on the NCAA Football Facebook page. Voting numbers have been reset, so college football fans determined to see their team survive must continue to be engaged in the process. (Since I carry a huge Pac-12 bias, I'm hoping Oregon lasts another round.)

EA Sports will also announce the football players who will represent their schools on Facebook. Gamers can start voting on their favorite athletes beginning Monday, February 4th through Monday, February 18th, after which the top four stars will be announced.
