Nascar "bad boy" Kyle Busch has always had a reputation for getting into a little trouble on the track.  Well, now, he's taking that trouble off the track as he got busted for reckless driving.

Kyle Busch is used to going fast.  Some tracks he and the other drivers will go in excess of 180mph, sometimes even up to 200mph or more.  I always wondered how the Nascar drivers drive in their own cars after enduring speeds 4-5 times what us normal drivers drive.

Yesterday, Busch was cited in in North Carolina for going 128mph in a 45mph zone while test driving a yellow Lexus LFA, a two-seat sport coupe produced as a concept car and production model.

Busch apologized to everybody for this behavior.

"I was test driving a new sports car and I got carried away," Busch, who was stopped between the towns of Troutman and Mooresville, said in a statement. "I went beyond the speed I should have been going on a public road. I apologize to the public, my fans, sponsors and race teams for my lack of judgment.

There is a chance Busch could lose his driver's license.

According to the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles handbook, a driver's license "will be revoked for at least 30 days" if a driver is convicted of driving any vehicle more than 15 mph over the speed limit. A valid state-issued driver’s license is not required to compete in NASCAR.

I guess it's pretty hard to go from hauling ass on a track to just driving a modest 45-55mph.

There is no word yet if Busch will be punished by Nascar.  He currently is on probation for an altercation with Kevin Harvick.  In fact, here is that video in case you missed it.
