The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series cruised through Daytona for the second time this season, this time for some night time racing.  In the end, it was Tony Stewart taking the checkered flag in what was a wild finish at the Coke Zero 400.

The race  proved that pack racing is more exciting for the fans, and causes the blood pressure of all the drivers to go way up, as tighter racing means more crashes.  Daytona didn't disappoint in that respect as a last lap crash took out 15 cars,  including my favorite driver Dale Earnhardt Jr.

The win was Stewart's fourth win in the last eight July races at Daytona to make 18 total wins at the coveted track, which is second only to the late Dale Earnhardt.  However, 'Smoke' has still never won the biggest race there - the Daytona 500.

Jeff Burton made it through the last lap wreck to take second, followed by Matt Kenseth and Joey Logano.

Here's the rest of the top 10.

The win gave Tony Stewart 47 career wins, and his 3rd this season.  That moves him up four spots in the Sprint Cup standings to 5th.  Matt Kenseth, who dominated most of the race, now has a 25 point lead over Greg Biffle in the standings.  The next race up will be at New Hampshire Motor Speedway next weekend.

Here is a recap of the race at Daytona in pictures.

As I said, my driver, Dale Jr. got all jacked up in the last lap wreck, but he still managed to finish in the top 15.  How did your driver do?
