Muse have landed the top honor at the Q magazine Awards 2012, as the British trio bested the likes of ColdplayLady Gaga and the Stone Roses to be named Best Act in the World Today during a ceremony held on Monday (Oct. 22) in London, England. Muse led an impressive list of Q Awards winners that also included Blur, Bobby Womack, Keane, Pulp, Johnny Marr and Killers frontman Brandon Flowers.

Blur snagged the Best Live Act trophy in the wake of their Hyde Park gig at the close of the Summer Olympics in London, beating out the Stone Roses and Radiohead. Womack won Best Album for his 'The Bravest Man In The Universe' disc, which dropped in June and marked his first album of original material since 1994's 'Resurrection.'

Keane won the Best Video award for their clip for 'Disconnected,' a tune off their 'Strangeland' album. Pulp grabbed the Q Inspiration award, appropriate for an influential band that last year played its first shows in nine years. Former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, meanwhile, took home the Q Hero award because, well, he's most everybody's hero.

And last but not least, Flowers took home the Q Idol award. "I am an American Idol," he joked while receiving the honor. "It's official."
