The false alarm about an imminent nuclear attack that caused panic for people across Hawaii has resulted in the resignation of a beloved mentor and noted military hero. It was announced that none other than Mr. Miyagi is resigning as the head of the Hawaiian Emergency Management Agency.

The worker who actually set off the alarm was fired last week but as his supervisor, Mr. Miyagi has “taken full responsibility and submitted a letter of resignation”. Or, in the words of Miyagi himself, “No such thing as bad student. Only bad teacher”.

According to the findings of an official report the employee who made the mistake had been “a source of concern for over a decade because of poor performance”.

Mr. Miyagi, who famous self-defense techniques included “sand the floor” and “paint the fence”, is expected to spend his retirement trying to finally catch a fly with a pair of chopsticks.
