Motley Crue Singer Set to Soar in New Reality TV Series ‘Vince Neil Escapes’

Vince Neil
Mary Ouellette,

Move over Bruce Dickinson, there’s a new pilot in town. Motley Crue singer Vince Neil took part in flight training for all the television viewing world to see during a season three episode of the hit PBS show ‘The Aviators.’ That appearance has inspired the producers to create a whole new series starring the rocker and his quest for flight.

The new show, called ‘Vince Neil Escapes,’ produced by FourPoints Television, follows Neil as he works towards finalizing his pilot’s license as well as accompanying him through the friendly skies as he heads to destinations across North America and the Caribbean in true rock star fashion.

“I’m thrilled to be part of the series. It’s a great ride,” Neil says in a statement. “We do a lot of crazy partying in our travels, for sure, but what I’ve learned from this experience goes way past that. Flying has always been a huge dream for me, but the reality of learning something this disciplined has had a life-altering effect.” He continues, “It’s taken time for it to sink in, but I’ve definitely gone through some unexpected changes.”

According to the show’s creators, in addition to Neil’s partying lifestyle, it also takes viewers through his struggles with FAA regulations due to his past history with DUIs and car crashes. It also aims to show Neil trying to find a balance between hard partying and the strict sobriety necessary to become a pilot.

“We get to see a developing side of Vince that lifts the series above the typical celebrity reality fare,” said pilot and show creator Anthony Nalli. “He’s faced with some choices that could have life-and-death consequences, and is called upon to summon a serious side that many ‘Vince-haters’ doubt even exists. It’s a classic battle of temptation that we all face—only on a rock star scale.”

While ‘The Aviators’ is one of PBS’s most popular shows, a network and air date has not yet been confirmed for ‘Vince Neil Escapes.’

This will not be Neil’s first foray into reality television. In 2002 he was part of the cast of the first season of ‘The Surreal Life’ and in 2010 he was a cast member on ABC’s ‘Skating With the Stars.’
