EA's and Criterion's Wii U version of Need for Speed: Most Wanted still doesn't have a release date here in North America, but the publisher has released a few details about what to expect when the game does arrive.

According to the EA Japan press release for NFS: Most Wanted (translated by Nintendo Life), the Wii U version of the game will include off-screen play on the GamePad. When a person is actually playing the game on a television though, the GamePad will display a map of Fairhaven, including locations of all the speed traps and billboards.

Most Wanted is due out in Japan on March 14th, which may give us some idea as to when the rest of the world will get their hands on the Wii U version. There's no indication if downloadable content released on other platforms will be included in the Wii U version, but more details should come to light when EA formally announces the game for other territories.

In the meantime, here are a few screenshots of the Wii U version to hold you over until the game is actually out.
