It appears that the overwhelming theme with voters in the presidential election was the people felt like their voices were not being heard. Recent marijuana legalization victories should let politicians know loud and clear: "If you won't do it, we will."

California, as well as Nevada and Massachusetts (and possibly Maine), all voted for recreational use of marijuana. Other states voted for medical use marijuana.

These efforts were grass roots-led, and very few politicians spoke up or led the charge. These were people saying, it's time for a change and getting it.

This is GREAT proof that the people are in charge of saying what is good for them.

We do have to be a little concerned though until the new administration is in. Marijuana is still against the law on a federal level, but so far the feds have treaded lightly on the individual states laws. This really could change at any time until federal prohibition has been lifted.

Allowing the people to have the final say on marijuana is one of the greatest things this government can do to regain trust. No one is buying into government anti-weed efforts or propaganda. Rather, they are pointing at those things as two big lies that government tells the people.

So, power to the people who stepped up and made these changes happen with little to no government help. Now, if we could just get Texas to join the pot party.
