Console bundles are generally good deals because they offer a console along with a new, high-profile game for a reduced price. Today, EA sweetened the deal even more by announcing an Xbox One bundle that offers one of the year’s biggest titles at no extra cost.

The Madden NFL 15 Xbox One bundle will include a standard Xbox One (without Kinect), a standard Xbox One wireless controller with chat headset, a download code for Madden NFL 15, special edition Madden NFL 15 packaging and a token for three Madden NFL Ultimate Team Pro Packs for $399. The bundle will be available for pre-order soon, so interested gamers should grab the limited edition bundle before it’s gone.

With digital versions of games representing an ever-growing percentage of overall sales, the idea of console bundles without physical copies makes perfect sense, and it’s something I expect to see more and more in the coming years. Gamers get essentially the same value they would with a physical bundle, but publishers don’t need to press actual discs, making it a win for both sides. Offering a digital copy at no extra cost is even more of a bargain for gamers looking to jump into the new generation of consoles.

Madden NFL 15 is scheduled for an Aug. 26 release on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.
