Lacuna Coil may be finishing out 2018 in reflection, filling November with the release of their concert album/DVD The 119 Show - Live In London and a new book titled Nothing Stands in Our Way, but they are very much looking forward to new music in 2019.

Speaking with Metal Wani, Lacuna Coil co-vocalist Cristina Scabbia revealed, "We are starting to work on a new record, even though, I have to say, there are no songs ready at all," she said, as heard in the player below. "Because our head right now is in tour mode, and to work on the book and the DVD, it required so much time that we honestly didn't focus properly on the songwriting. So as soon as we'll be back home after the Euro tour that we are approaching, we will focus on the songwriting, and then the thing will be real, but so far, we didn't really have a lot of time and, most of all, the right mindset to compose new music."

She continued, "We want to do it in a very serious way and in a way that we know that we can produce good stuff, but soon. We're planning a new record for next year. Hopefully we'll make it."

As stated, the end of 2018 will be busy for the band. First up is the release of the CD/DVD, The 119 Show - Live in London, which will arrive this Friday (Nov. 9). Then, on Nov. 28, Rocket 88 will issue Nothing Stands in Our Way, the group's first book. The page-turner includes rare photos, memorabilia and personal artifacts from the band's career.

As Scabbia revealed, the band also has some tour dates to fulfill before packing it in for the holidays. They're currently playing shows in Europe and also have some December stops as well. See all of their scheduled touring here.
