Gallons of batter and syrup, many pounds of sausage and thousands of pats of butter all added together means only 1 thing; the annual Kiwanis Pancake Day. This is, in fact, the 64th year the local Kiwanis Club has put on the pancake day.

Not only does this give you a night off from cooking but it benefits some great local non-profit organizations as well. The Kiwanis of Abilene projects, like the pancake day, benefit over 50 organizations and scholarships.

I have been to many of these pancake day's and I have to say they make some darn good pancakes; and they are 'all you can eat'. (They made that rule before they met me!) It's not just the great pancakes though, the atmosphere is fun too. They usually have some live entertainment and of course, you see many friends taking advantage of the 'no cooking' night too.
