June 23rd is National Pink Day for Breast Cancer Awareness

This holiday will take on new meaning for me this year, simply because I am now one of the “statistics”. I am the 1 in 8 women that are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Tomorrow is the day to show your support of breast cancer awareness.

I was given some great gifts today by some fellow friends and survivors so I will definitely be wearing my pink tomorrow. Many of you know, some don’t, that this past February I was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy and am currently undergoing chemo.

My prognosis is very good. I am currently cancer free and the chemo will provide extra insurance that everything is gone from my blood stream and surrounding tissues. I’ve never been a “pink” freak but I am now!!
