Jesse James Dupree of Jackyl Talks New Music, Touring, Sturgis, Reality TV, and His New Bourbon on The Morning After
One of the best parts about being in radio is the extreme pleasure of meeting my favorite artists. Actually forming a great friendship with them is the icing on the cake. Well, Jesse James Dupree, of the rock band Jackyl, is one of those that I've had the honor of knowing over the years. When he called in to the show this morning, he reminded me that it has actually been 20 years. Damn, I feel old.
That's right, Jackyl came out with their debut, self-titled album back in 1992 and haven't looked back as they've released 10 albums, countless singles and logged more miles than Captain Kirk.
Now, 'The Hardest Working Band in Rock n Roll' are back with a new album (Best in Show) and tour, to go along with the extremely busy schedule that Jesse has with his family, new bourbon, TV show and more.
