Jane’s Addiction released their fourth studio album, ‘The Great Escape Artist,’ last year and it was their first disc since 2003’s ‘Strays.’ Vocalist Perry Farrell says fans won’t have nearly as long to wait for another album.

In an interview with Localbozo.com, Farrell says, “The plan is, as soon as we get off the road, we begin writing our next record. I’d like to give it a six month window and just get another Jane’s record out, coming off the heels of ‘The Great Escape Artist.’ I think that’s the way to do it for us.”

He goes on to add, “I don’t think we’ll wait eight years (laughs) to do another record. You know, we didn’t plan on getting back together, so that was part of – we had broken up. That was part of the reason that we took so long, but these days, the best thing that an artist can do or a group can do is stay busy and stay on the trail. And that’s what our plan is.”

Jane’s Addiction will hit the road in August for a month-long trek in the U.S. which includes a show in Perry Farrell’s hometown of New York City.

“To be able to return and be one of the people that maybe the next generation or the generation following would have grown up on or fallen in love with – it means a lot to me. It’s like living a strange kind of a dream,” says Farrell.
