Have you ever heard someone say, "my car knows the way home"?  Maybe you wonder how a guitarists fingers can move faster than your brain?  That is muscle memory.  A lot of you will have your muscle memory toyed with today.

It's the first day of school. Whether you're a part of it or not, you've gone similar routes and similar speeds all summer long. Now, a bunch of people going different speeds and different routes are going to "screw up" your commute.  You might even feel more than a bit aggravated. Part of that, is your muscle memory being messed with. For the next few days or weeks you're actually going to have to think when you drive and that's gonna stress you out a little bit. That's okay, the extra awareness could save yours or others live.

You've heard it a million times before "a little extra time".  That's all it takes to correct this situation.  It's a "little extra time" to get there and a "little extra time" to get used to the rhythm of a new school year.  Don't let it get to you. Try to be the hero this year. Be unflappable and unbreakable and realize that things will be back to normal before you know it.

P.S. Maybe you should chill with some Floyd.
