I love those times when I get to think, really think, really "drill down" and explore the big questions with logic.  It's actually not a "big" question when you think about it, but what can logic tell us about a possible invasion of Texas by the United States government.

The answer is, there is NO logic behind a "government invasion/martial law scenario" in Texas.  There's a ton of ways to tear this idea apart.  Why don't we start with the fact that the minute one state was "invaded" the other 49 would realize they're all in danger and join the fight. Essentially, invading one state would be the government tipping its hand/showing it's card and put it at a severe disadvantage as to whatever they wanted to do next.

Next up, Texas isn't "all that".  I know you want to believe that you live in the greatest state of the Union, but chances are you don't. We do good in some places and poorly in others. How "great" it is depends on your needs and what you've been taught. Nothing magical happens when you travel over the imaginary borders into our state.

There are better targets. The south coast is okay, but if you really want to control a seaport, you're much better on either coast. Plus, those targets would be easier to take and their seaports a much bigger and more developed infrastructure for military ships.

Texas is too big. The reason Afghanistan has never been truly conquered by Russia or the U.S. is because it's too damn big and there are too many remote areas. By the time El Paso was conquered, Dallas and Houston would be dug in. This is not to mention all of the little remote towns that are a 100 miles from nowhere.

Dead taxpayers don't pay taxes. These is a compelling reason why the U.S. never goes to war with it's citizens to begin with. People who aren't alive and making money aren't producing things for the government to benefit from.

What would be the benefit of having Texas "locked down" by the government?  Well, basically the answer to that question is in the answers to the previous questions?  If the government owned Texas, what could they accomplish from here?  The answer is, really kind of nothing that they aren't already accomplishing here and around the other 49. They already have bases and strongholds and various installations.

These are just some of the reason why the U.S. will never "invade" Texas. So logic tells us that no, Jade Helm is not a plot to invade Texas. It's what it's supposed to be, so lets just shut up and enjoy the economic benefit of having these troops rent private land and make whatever purchases they have to make along the way.
