The NFL football season may be over, but that doesn't mean football in Abilene is done.  Armed with a new name, and new look, Abilene's professional indoor football team, the Abilene Bombers, kick off the season this Saturday.

After being called the Ruff Riders since their inaugural 2009 season, the Bombers hope to get back to what that team did in that first season - and that's win.  In 2009, the Ruff Riders went 9-6, but lost to the San Angelo Stampede by 3 points in the first round of the playoffs.  Since then, the team couldn't put together a winning season.

On August 17th of last year, the Ruff Riders became The Bombers with a new logo, team colors and new personnel that hope to get some wins, and a crowd back at the Taylor County Expo Center.

If you have never been to an indoor football game, you are definitely missing out because you can get so close to the action, which also means you get to be real close when you smack talk the other team. There are also tons of giveaways throughout the game and it's just fun for the entire family.  Not to mention, you are able to enjoy a nice cold adult beverage at the game.

The Bombers open the season against San Angelo this Saturday.  You can check out their season schedule below. As far as tickets, general admission is $12, VIP seating is $35, and box seating is $85.
