Hugh Jackman wish he knew how to quit playing Wolverine.

While the Oscar-nominated actor made a lot of noise about 'The Wolverine' and 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' being his last as the superhero character, Jackman and director James Mangold, are both in talks to return for 'The Wolverine 2,' a movie that hopefully gets a much better title than that.

Deadline reports that negotiations have begun with Mangold and Jackman to return for another adventure. Mangold is working on a treatment for the film, which is obviously being kept under wraps, and based on the strength of that treatment, the film would move forward. But, considering both Mangold and Jackman made 'The Wolverine' the second-highest grossing 'X-Men' film of all-time, we can't imagine there would be a lot of resistance from the studio.

Jackman, who could be nominated for another Oscar this year for his work in 'Prisoners,' still has one more Wolverine performance to come as 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' hits theaters next summer. He is currently filming Neill Blomkamp's 'Elysium' follow-up 'Chappie' but beyond that has an opening in his schedule that would neatly fit a 'Wolverine 2.'

So, what story will this 'Wolverine' sequel tell? There's no obvious follow-up to 'The Wolverine' (his origin and return to Japan are the biggest comic storylines and have already been covered in the movies), so will 'The Wolverine 2' be based on an existing storyline or instead focus on an original story? We'd love a real 'Weapon X' story, but considering both 'X2' and 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' mined so much of that territory, we can't imagine pitching yet another origin movie.
