Man, I wanted to call this "How To Keep Your Privates Safe From The Public", but this is actually so handy, I wanted to be clear.  Underneath the box where you post your status update is a selection for "Public", "Friends" or "Only Me". It's pretty self explanatory, but some of us found out about it late, or accidentally published something public and then kept publishing public when we only wanted our friends to see it.  There IS a very simple way to make everything you've ever posted private/for friends only.

Now keep in mind, once you do this, it is a pain in the butt to undue. I can't imagine any ready why you would want to undo it though.  Once you do this, when people who aren't your friends go to your page, all they'll see is your masthead and those little boxes on the side with your friends, books you read and all of that stuff.  They will see none of your posts.

So this is a pretty easy three step thing.

#1. Click on those three dots on the right and go to "Timeline Settings"

#2. Click Privacy, then "Limit The Audience For Posts You've Shared With....."

loading...

#3. You'll get this prompt screen. Click Limit Old Posts. Once you click that, you're done.

*To see what you've done, click over to Timelines And Tagging and then click the "View As" next to "Review What Other People Can See On Your Timeline"

loading...

*The result is a totally clean profile page for people who aren't your friends.  See that beautiful white space on the lower right?  Here's my Facebook, if you're not my friend, you'll be able to get a closer look at the clean profile.
