How Do You Wake Up and Get Going in the Morning?
I am not a morning person! Never have been, never will be. I’ve always been a night owl, staying up watching TV or reading or even doing crafts. I don’t stay up as late, now that I’m old, but I still don’t get up early either. Some people hit snooze 10 times, others don’t even need an alarm, some have to have a gallon of coffee or some sugar to get going.
I am one of those people that has to have an alarm and yes I hit snooze 4 or 5 times before I finally drag my lazy out of bed. I can’t eat breakfast right away I need about 30 minutes to get my body going. Most times I don’t even eat breakfast.
I remember when I was a kid my mom would come wake us up by turning on the light and yelling “come on get up”. She’d come back about every 10 minutes, which actually seemed like 30 seconds, and yell again, then she would threaten us with the spray bottle.
The spray bottle was full of water, which she used when ironing. And yes, it got used plenty, it wasn’t an idle threat, she would actually spray us with cold water to get us up. It wasn’t pleasant!
Now my boyfriend doesn’t need an alarm for anything, he just wakes up. Doesn’t matter if he needs to get up at 6am or 10am he just wakes up and he’s usually happy as a lark. It’s really irritating! He does have to have a cup of coffee first thing though.
So how do you wake up in the morning? Are you like me and just want to crawl under the covers for another hour or do you jump out of bed ready to go?
