Who's ready to get their "love metal" on?! After a few years away, HIM are re-emerging this year with a brand new album called 'Tears on Tape,' and they've unveiled the first North American shows this year, with hopefully more to follow.

The Finnish rockers will hit a handful of major markets in May for what they've dubbed the 'Tears on Tour' trek. Stops include Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Toronto, New York and Philadelphia, with the tour running May 3-12. A special House of Blues, Ticketmaster and Citibank pre-sale begins tomorrow (Feb. 20), with the traditional public on-sale date for shows taking place this Friday (Feb. 22). 'Tears on Tape' is HIM's eighth studio album and the band spent the past year recording it with their longtime producer Hiili Hiilesmaa. It's set for release on April 30.

Singer Ville Valo recently stated of the new disc, "‘Tears on Tape’ is going to be really organic, straight-in-your-face, super melancholy bulls— [Laughs]. It’s going to be something nobody’s heard before. I’m really happy about it. It sounds great. Remember the soundtrack for ‘Twin Peaks’ that Angelo Badalamenti did? It’s got that similar forlorn, melancholy quality but mixed up with Motörhead. That’s where we’re at! We’re really happy. It’s got that dreamlike quality. It’s like Roy Orbison meeting Metallica."
