Musicradar and Total Guitar have teamed up to find out who the greatest metal guitarist of all time is. So far, John Petrucci of Dream Theater is winning over Dimebag Darrell, who personally is my vote for the best! You can vote at musicradar.com. Check my blog about it at here.

In other heavy metal news:

Ill Nino will headline a tour starting in March.  Support at all shows will come from Breed 77.  The trek will include appearances at Hammerfest and the Kick Out The Jams festivals. In the meantime, Ill Nino has released a new video for the song “Against the Wall” from the album “Dead New World” which is in stores now. Check out the video below.

Two months before the release of the new record, “Blunt Force Trauma”, Cavalera Conspiracy, featuring brothers and former Sepultura members , Max and Igor Cavalera,  performed a unique worldwide pre release show in Spain.  “Blunt Force Trauma” releases on March 29th on Roadrunner Records. Check out some footage of that show in Spain below.

Amon Amarth have announced a U.S headlining tour called “An Evening With Amon Amarth”. The tour will not have any support acts and Amon Amarth plan on performing two sets each night to support their upcoming record, “Surtur Rising” which is due out on March 29th. There is only one Texas show at The White Rabbit in San Antonio on April 27th.
