No Virginia, there won't be a GWAR-B-Q this year. That's because GWAR are putting off their annual event, postponing the next gathering until 2018. And while fans may be disappointed, the postponement comes with a very good reason.

The scumdogs have holed themselves up in a recording studio working on a new album, so it's possible that the band will have new music to play for their fans very soon. In addition, GWAR are currently working on a whole new stage show and are in the process of scheduling out one of their heaviest years of touring to date.

Though the full itinerary isn't ready to digest yet, fans can look forward to three newly announced shows. The band will play Reverb in Reading, Pa., on April 13, followed by the Newport Music Hall in Columbus, Ohio the following day (April 14) and Detroit's Berserker Fest VI at the Crofoot Ballroom on April 15.

As for the new album, details are sparse at this point. Guitarist Pustulus Maximus states that specifics will be revealed "when we f--king want to tell you." So stay tuned for more information on the next Gwar album as it becomes available and keep an eye out for more tour dates being announced in the near future.
