Green Day will not be starting their fall tour as planned. The band has announced that they are postponing the first three shows of their fall trek as several members of the band and their crew are suffering illness.

The show affected are the Sept. 20 tour opener in St. Louis, the following date Sept. 21 in Chicago and a Sept. 24 show in Detroit. The group intends on rescheduling each of the shows for later dates with the original tickets being honored. There was also a scheduled appearance at the World Cup of Hockey Fan Village in Toronto on Sept. 23, but that show has been canceled with no planned makeup.

"We're so sad to announce we have to postpone three shows and cancel Toronto," said the band. "Many of us have been battling this infection for days on end to be ready, and it just got the best of us."

Fans who would like to obtain a refund can do so from their original point of purchase. Stay tuned to the band's website for more info on the new tour dates.
