At least ten million people sat down to watch Sunday’s Game of Thrones Season 7 premiere live. Some of said viewers normally watch something with about as much nudity (if a bit less story), as Pornhub claims even its viewership was affected by the “Dragonstone” premiere.

Online portal Pornhub (don’t worry, it’s SFW) claims that United States traffic to its website was down 4.5% during Sunday’s Game of Thrones premiere, compared with a 4.1% drop during Season 6’s premiere last April. As the website explains, Sunday is apparently one of Pornhub’s biggest nights, traffic-wise. Gotta relieve that looming Monday stress somehow, right?

Intriguingly, it seems Season 6 wasn’t always a drain on bandwidth, with some episodes commanding more attention than others:

Pornhub also reports that Season 6 finale “The Winds of Winter” led to a 5.2% drop in traffic, so higher viewership isn’t necessarily correlated with Pornhub visitors. The site also records data for a number of other events that lead to lower traffic, including the Super Bowl, NBA Finals, and even the Senate testimonies of James Comey and Jeff Sessions.

Game of Thrones Season 7’s mammoth viewership is likely to increase with subsequent episodes, so might fans put Pornhub out of business? Winter has come, indeed.
