Frances Bean Cobain Calls for Twitter Ban on Courtney Love After Dave Grohl Rant

There’s never a dull moment in the life of Courtney Love, who seems to be compensating for a growing lack of musical activity by feuding with everyone from her landlord to the Muppets — and, of course, Foo Fighters frontman/ex-Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, who’s been one of her favorite public sparring partners for well over a decade. Courtney’s latest accusation: that Grohl made a pass at her daughter, 19-year-old Frances Bean Cobain.

Love made the allegation via Twitter, as part of a rambling rant that included a death threat against Grohl and a handful of bizarre insults aimed at him and his fellow Foos. “I hear from Frannie’s roommate that @davegrohl hit on Frances, and that she was curious,” Love told her followers. “I’m not mad at her, him I am about to shoot, dead.”

Perhaps fittingly, the “@davegrohl” in question wasn’t even the one Love meant to put on notice — the account, which is inactive, belongs to an unrelated Dave Grohl from Germany — but her message still reached Grohl, who responded via a weary-sounding public statement that sighed, “Unfortunately Courtney is on another hateful Twitter rant. These new accusations are upsetting, offensive and absolutely untrue.”

Now Frances Bean has joined the fray, making it clear that she’s also annoyed by her mother’s latest outburst, which she also claims is fiction. “While I’m generally silent on the affairs of my biological mother, her recent tirade has taken a gross turn,” reads Frances’ statement. “I have never been approached by Dave Grohl in more than a platonic way. I’m in a monogamous relationship and very happy. Twitter should ban my mother.”
