Well, that didn't take very long, did it? While a few weeks ago most concerned themselves with petty matters like the Presidential election, the real story came out of Colorado and Washington, where a measure passed legalizing the sale of marijuana! While perhaps symptom of a delayed reaction (hint hint), it seems Hollywood has responded in kind by developing a FOX sitcom based on the legalizing movement! From the producers of 'Entourage' no less, could 'The Happy Tree' push the movement even further?

As happy as stoners country-wide must already be, we've just learned from Deadline that FOX and 'Entourage' producers Rob Weiss, Mark Wahlberg and Steve Levinson have begun development on a new comedy series chronicling the marijuana legalization movement. Cutely dubbed 'The Happy Tree,' might the show push the legalization movement into reaching critical mass?

Written by Weiss, Jay Leggett and Blake Leibel, the series will follow "a brilliant young corporate attorney who, after a nervous breakdown, quits his job and seeks a life of peace and serenity on Venice Beach only to find himself the unlikely voice for the marijuana 'legalize it' movement."

20th Century Fox TV will produce the project, with Lawrence Longo co-producing. Do you think 'The Happy Tree' will galvanize the movement, or simply poke fun at marijuana culture? Burn your thoughts into the comments below!
