Even though there will not be a fireworks show in Abilene, there are plenty of other events in the area to celebrate Independence Day.

  • Festival By The Lake in Clyde

    Clyde Lake will host a two day Fourth of July event that will feature live bands, cook-offs, carnival rides and more Friday, June 30th, and Saturday, July 1st. The festivities kick off at 6pm each night with fireworks display on both nights.

  • Possum Kingdom Fireworks at Hell's Gate

    Just a short drive from Abilene is Possum Kingdom Lake which will have a fireworks display and other fun activities at Hell's Gate on Saturday, July 1st. The activities get started at 6:30pm and goes until 11pm. View the firework show by boat on the water or enjoy watching the show from the YMCA Camp Grady Spruce - located at the end of Park Road 36. Admission is $5. Alcohol and pets are prohibited.

  • Hillcrest Neighborhood July 4th Parade

    Hillcrest Neighborhood July 4th Parade is an annual event put on by Hillcrest Church of Christ. Starting at 10am on July 4th, there will be a parade with homemade ice cream afterwards. The event is free.

  • 'Who Burnt The Beans' Cookoff in Novice

    Held south of Abilene in Novice, Texas, this event will have a cook-off, fireworks, tournaments and more. It all kicks off at noon on Saturday, July 1st. Get more info on their Facebook page below.

  • Baird Fireworks Show

    Baird will have their fireworks show on Saturday, July 1st at the city park. People are encouraged to bring their fold-out chairs, blankets, etc. The event starts at 1pm with fireworks show later in the evening. Baird is just east of Clyde off of I-20.
