In early 2013, we reported on Oblivion Myth guitarist Chris Selby being arrested for attempted murder. Selby allegedly tried pushing Kelly Ramos over a 45-foot-high railing, at one point leaving the woman dangling off. In an exclusive update on the case, we can report that Selby entered a guilty plea to lesser charges, which include two counts of misdemeanor assault and one count of vandalism.

According to earlier reports, police were called to the Tulip Grove Apartment Complex in Hermitage, Tenn., at approximately 4:20 PM. After seeing a Ramos hanging from a balcony, an officer pulled his gun on Selby and demanded he pull Ramos to safety, which Selby did. The guitarist was arrested and place on a $100,000 bond.

According to documents supplied to Loudwire by the Davidson County Court, on April 10, Selby appeared in court, pleading guilty to one count of assault, one count of domestic assault and a count of vandalism ($500 or less). The attempted murder charge against Selby was dropped and he has been given three years probation.

Chris Selby is no longer a member of Oblivion Myth, claiming to us that he parted ways with the band due to a conflict of creative interest. Oblivion Myth confirmed Selby's claim through a statement from the band given to Loudwire:

Chris has had an on again / off again relationship with Oblivion Myth through the years. We had held out hope to work with him again, but at this time the band is going in a direction where Chris is no longer aligned with our vision and direction. In the time since Selby's departure we have had to adapt the music to a four man lineup, but having played more in 2013 than any year in OM's history, audience feedback has been strong. New music is being written and Ray (LeGrand) was even honored with an award for "Best Metal Vocalist" last week at the annual Music City Mayhem Awards. The Myth is alive and we wish nothing but the best for Chris.
