Five Finger Death Punch have announced big news about their upcoming album. In an interview with Des Moines, Iowa radio station Lazer 103.3 (seen above), the band revealed Got Your Six as title of their sixth studio album, which is expected to be released later this summer. The phrase "got your six" is a military term for "got your back."

The interview, which features drummer Jeremy Spencer and frontman Ivan Moody, was conducted before the band played the station’s Lazerfest over the weekend. Spencer announced the title saying, “We're excited. It's called Got Your Six. It comes out in probably… I don't know. Maybe late July or early August. We're not sure yet."

Moody added that the band is not taking any breaks before its release saying, “I just bought a new house about three months ago, and I've spent four whole days in it. It never ends." He continued, "I'm going back to Vegas with these guys to do touchups, [on the new album] videos and whatnot. But I live in Colorado, so I won't even get to see [my new house] until after I get back from Europe."

Spencer added that the band really expanded their sound on the new effort. “I'm digging it," stated the drummer. "It's actually more brutal, with more extreme dynamics. There are some really mellow parts and then some really brutal parts. So we're running the whole gamut of sounds."

The news follows the recent story of the band’s ill-fated Memphis gig on May 1, which was cut short due to technical problems and featured some seriously awkward moments between Moody and Spencer. Things got so bad that fans thought the band was breaking up on stage. Ivan Moody issued a statement on Facebook the next day explaining the issues and the subsequent meltdown, which he said was not “handled properly.” He teased a song "This Ain't My Last Dance," but what fans might not have caught was a sly revelation of the album title when he stated that the band wasn't going anywhere and "We GOT YOUR SIX."

Five Finger Death Punch released their last album in two parts with The Wrong Side Of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell arriving in July and November of 2013.

The band will head back to the studio to finish up Got Your Six before heading to Europe for festival shows starting on May 30 in Munich, Germany. Check out all their tour dates here.
