If you were one of the unlucky Xbox One purchasers to get your hands on a defective console at launch, Microsoft is looking to make it up to you.

In case you hadn't heard, a small percentage of Xbox One consoles have been affected by faulty disc drives. As soon as someone would put in a game, the system would grind it up, and render the optical drive useless. Fortunately, Microsoft is on top of it, and will be sending new consoles to those impacted with little resistance. However, so people can still enjoy games while they wait for the new console to arrive, Microsoft will be giving away free digital versions of its first-party launch titles.

"While a replacement console is on its way, we want to ensure our advance exchange customers can stay in the game," Microsoft told Polygon in a statement. "We will provide each of them with a free digital download of one of the launch titles published by Microsoft Studios."

Now, the only issue would be if you happened to be someone who picked up all the titles at launch, and you got hit with the disc drive issue. Regardless, it's nice to see Microsoft going a little bit above and beyond to ensure people with issues are still getting to have fun with the Xbox One.
