I remember is school we used those big bulky Apple and Commodore 64 computers with one color (green) screens and they only printed in dot matrix.  Well back in my day that's all we had.   Times have definitely changed. We now have super fast laser jet printers and full color screens.  However,  the Commodore 64 is back!!The new Commodore 64 computer comes in the same color and style as the original but everything else, including the technology has been updated.  It won't come with Windows(although you can download it) but will run a Linux system instead.  I don't know what all that means because I'm still pretty computer illiterate.  I do know it will play all the games as before, just like in the 80's!

The past isn't forgotten, however: The company claims that consumers will be able to play all their favorite 8-bit era games within seconds of turning the Commodore 64 on, by running software that emulates the original operating system.

The old Atari games that I used to play from the 70' and 80's hit the store shelves November of this year in the new Atari Flashback 4 game system.  I saw it at Bed, Bath and Beyond just a couple of weeks ago.  It comes with pre-programmed games on the system.  You don't have to buy all those little game carts that always got lost.  There are 3 previous Flashback versions but I think this one has more of the games I played; including Pong and Street Racer. This version includes 75 games, listed below are the 15 new ones that have been added since Flashback 3.  Something else new on version 4 is that the joystick controllers are now wireless.
  • Breakout
  • Crystal Castles
  • Football
  • Front Line
  • Jungle Hunt
  • Polaris
  • Pong
  • Return to Haunted House
  • Slot Machine
  • Slot Racers
  • Space Invaders (Not the original 2600 version)
  • Stellar Track
  • Street Racer
  • Tempest
  • Warlords

So would you buy the New Commodore 64 or Atari Flashback 4?  If for no other reason than to recapture your childhood.
