Additional Information

The West Texas Rehabilitation Center's Annual Telethon is scheduled to air live from the Abilene Civic Center, January 19 from 7 p.m. to midnight. As with the telethon every year there is a huge auction that takes place and you can participate in from your computer. You'll find everything imaginable from handmade afghans to yard furniture. You'll want to bookmark the Rehabs auction website, to get in on the good deals this year.

Since the Telethon has been going on, there's always been an auction of some kind as far back as I can remember. The REHAB folks have always managed to get some awesome items to auction off including a lot of autographed sports memorabilia. In the early years you would have to watch TV to keep up with the bidding, or go to the civic center in person to see the items on display. Today, the auction borrows a page from the eBay handbook and runs things accordingly.

Oh by the way, there is a Telethon that goes with this huge auction and if you'd like tickets to the show, they are only $12 each to see the show live from the Abilene Civic Center. Tickets can be purchased at the West Texas Rehabilitation Center and at the Abilene Civic Center box office.
