Bookworms will feel right at home when the Abilene Public Library hosts the West Texas Book Festival September 22-27.
The 6-day festival will feature seminars, workshops, speeches, book signings and luncheons events taking place at the Abilene Public Library downtown, the Civic Center and other locations throughout town. It will also feature authors speaking at area schools.

- Promote Abilene as a tourist destination
- Attract and recognize authors, publishers and readers from around Texas
- Highlight the importance of reading and literacy throughout the community
