‘Elf on a Shelf’ Keeps Christmas Magic Alive [VIDEO]

Elf on a Shelf is the latest fun for kids and parents alike. Elf is magical and reports to Santa each night letting him know who has been naughty or nice. However, Elf is a little mischievous his self.
The Elf on a Shelf is a book with the Elf story book and the Elf toy (can be a boy or girl). The rest is up to you. You decide what kind of mischief he gets into and what he reports back to Santa.
I’ve seen the pics everyone posts and just thought it looked fun. The youngest person in my house is 13 and I’m pretty sure he knows there isn’t a Santa. I found and Elf this weekend, although mine is not the ‘real’ Elf on a Self he looks pretty darn close and it was good enough for me.
He has already been into my homemade mac and cheese, taken a cotton ball bubble bath, made coffee for dad and will probably get into the Oreo’s tonight. There are tons of ideas on Pinterest and Facebook. Once all the Christmas decorations are up I’m sure he will find much more to get into.
What I found interesting is that the 13 year old wanted to participate. He’s come up with some ideas for Elf too. I love it. I think Elf will be with us for many more Christmases to come.
The Elf on a Shelf movie An Elf’s Story will be featured on CBS Friday, December 14th.
