Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder will join Roger Waters to perform the Pink Floyd classic ‘Comfortably Numb’ at the 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy relief concert set to take place tonight Madison Square Garden in New York City, Waters revealed during an appearance last night on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.’ Vedder, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and Coldplay‘s Chris Martin were added to the concert’s lineup late last month, joining a star-studded bill that also includes everybody from Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen to Kanye West and the Who.

“We’re doing a little bit of ‘The Wall’ and a little bit of ‘Dark Side of the Moon,’” Waters told Fallon, revealing plans to perform several songs, including ‘Money’ and ‘Us and Them,’ and wrap up their set with ‘Comfortably Numb’ — with Vedder sitting in as a guest singer on the latter tune. “I’m such a big fan of his work, and we’ve been friends for a while, so it’s great that he’s going to join us,” Waters added.

It’s not known whether Vedder will appear elsewhere on the bill — either by himself or guesting with another act — but considering the amount of time he spent on the road this year performing solo in support of last year’s ‘Ukulele Songs’ album, he should be more than ready to hit the stage on his own if called upon. He wrapped up a lengthy 2012 North American solo trek earlier this month in Clearwater, Fla.

Tonight’s concert will be the largest event in music history in terms of its global audience, with more than 2 billion people expected to have access to the event through dozens of TV broadcasts and website streams, including YouTube, MTV.com, Hulu and Myspace. Several movie theaters in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut will also be screening the concert live, while the Pearl Jam Radio Channel on SiriusXM will broadcast it in its entirety starting at 7:30PM ET.
