We recently reported that Drowning Pool’s new vocalist is Suicide Hook singer Jasen Moreno and now the band has officially confirmed the news.

After parting ways with former singer Ryan McCombs, Drowning Pool recruited Moreno to go on the road with them. He made his live debut with the band on July 8 at a show in Ardmore, Okla.; check out video footage of his performance.

In a press release Moreno commented, “I am extremely happy and very grateful to be a part of the Drowning Pool family. Everyone’s been so welcoming, especially the fans. I can’t praise them enough. They’ve made me feel right at home. This first run of live shows couldn’t have gone any better!”

In an interview with Guitar World magazine, guitarist C.J. Pierce stated, “It’s been a pleasure working with Jasen. He’s everything we hoped for in a singer and he jumped right in, stepped up to the plate and got straight to work. Jasen has brought not only a new voice but a new fire to the Drowning Pool sound and we can’t wait to share the new music with everyone.”

Moreno is Drowning Pool’s third lead singer since the tragic death of Dave Williams in 2002.

Pierce summed up his excitement for the band’s future through Facebook by saying, “Looking forward to the rest of our career with Jasen. The Singer switch is finally over!”

Drowning Pool’s have teamed up with producer Kato Khandwalla for their fifth studio album, the first to feature Moreno. The disc is due out in early 2013.
