Dream Theater’s New Album Out In September [VIDEOS]

Dream Theater have announced the date of their new album with new drummer, Mike Mangini, as well as a North American tour with a few stops in Texas.  Check out the new song after the jump.

"A Dramatic Turn of Events" comes out on September 13th of this year.  As a huge Dream Theater fan, I am pretty amped up to hear what the new album will sound like with a new drummer.  Mike Mangini took over drumming duties for Mike Portnoy after he left to do some stuff with Avenged Sevenfold and some other solo stuff.  Fans were pretty ticked off, including myself, about the departure, however, as they say, the show must go on.

If there is any doubt about what Mangini brings to the table as a drummer, check out this video of him doing a drum solo earlier this year.  He's got a bad ass drum kit too.

I think Mangini is a bad ass and will do a great job for Dream Theater, but will he always be compared to Portnoy?  Of course he will.

Anyway, Dream Theater goes on tour this Fall with Trivium playing several dates.  Catch them in Houston at Verizon Theater on October 25th, and in Austin at Bass Concert Hall on October 26th.  Both of those shows will have Trivium on the bill.
