After five consecutive wins and some serious rallying by fans, Down have entered the Loudwire Cage Match Hall of Fame. Not to mention, frontman Phil Anselmo makes Cage Match history by being the first person to enter the Hall of Fame with two different bands, first with Pantera for their single ‘Piss’ and now with Down for their track ‘Witchtripper.’

‘Witchtripper’ is the band’s lead single off their forthcoming disc titled ‘Down IV Part I – The Purple EP,’ which is due out Sept. 18 via Down Records/Independent Label Group. Most recently the track beat out Stone Sour’s new double single ‘Gone Soverign’ / ‘Absolute Zero.’ Down also took down mainstream rockers Three Days Grace and Chevelle, as well as heavy hitters such as Firewind and Mastodon.

Down take a well-deserved place alongside other acts in the Cage Match Hall of Fame such as Fozzy, Anthrax, Korn and Trivium.
