Both singers are solo artists in their own right: Watson has been touring the Midwest for years, while May once found herself as an 'American Idol' finalist. But they’ve put their pasts behind them for Watson & May, a joint vehicle for melancholic, slow jams.

Their single 'Gingham Sheets' is a bit more country than the avant-garde fair that Watson is used to. He’s traded layers of drone rock for a slight twang and a somber melody, which is complemented by May’s sweet side vocals.
