Before we get into this week's Cage Match, we have to start by offering a big congratulations to Skillet's "Feel Invincible," which became the band's first song to enter the Cage Match Hall of Fame. The track bested Sixx: A.M.'s "Prayers for the Damned" to complete their five victory run. But with Skillet's retirement, that means there will be two new competitors in this week's Cage Match.

In one corner, you'll find Deftones, who released the well-reviewed Gore album earlier this year. The band is starting to climb the charts with their new single "Phantom Bride." The hypnotic rocker features a guest turn by Alice in Chains' Jerry Cantrell on guitar.

Their competitor in the other corner will be Ghost, who ramp up the bass and energy on their latest single "From the Pinnacle to the Pit." The song is featured on the band's Meliora album, and is bound to connect with audiences within the live setting. But which song will win out?

That's up to you! Turn the volume up and tear the knob off as you listen to Deftones' "Phantom Bride" and Ghost's "From the Pinnacle to the Pit" in the players provided. Then let us know if you want to see the "phantom" or "ghost" advance by voting in the poll below.

(This Cage Match will run until Aug. 8 at 2PM ET. Fans can vote once per hour! So come back and vote often to make sure your favorite song wins!)

Rules of Cage Match:
Fans can vote once per hour for their favorite song. If a song remains the reigning champ for five straight cage matches, it is retired to the Loudwire Cage Match Hall of Fame. With so many great songs out there, we have to give other bands a chance!
