When Disturbed announced they would soon be releasing new music, they polled fans about whether they wanted a heavy song or a ballad to be the first single. The fans chose the heavy option and the band released "Are You Ready?" and spilled the details about Evolution, the follow-up to 2015's Immortalized. David Draiman has offered a lofty comparison for the latest effort.

"If I died after this record came out and this was the end of our legacy, I'd be okay with that. To me, this is our 'Black Album,'" the singer said when assessing the strength of Evolution in the new issue of Metal Hammer. Of course, he's referring to Metallica's groundbreaking self-titled 1991 record that thrust heavy metal into the mainstream and catapulted Metallica to megastardom.

"We've always used [the 'Black Album'] as a goal — the record that literally every single track on it could be a hit. A record that breaks doors down, that opens up new opportunities to us, that helps you achieve true immortality as an artist," Draiman continued.

Immortalized was releasing following Disturbed's hiatus which took place from mid-2011 through June of 2015. The record ascended to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts, becoming the fifth consecutive Disturbed record to reach that mark. Evolution will be released on Oct. 19 through Reprise Records and pre-orders can be placed here.
