A Pittsburgh man is now suing the Dave Matthews Band for injuries he says were caused when a DMB roadie knocked him off the stage while helping to set up for a July 9, 2010 concert by the group at PNC Park.

Richard Lynham says he was working on the rigging system when a DMB employee named Hank physically moved him, causing him to fall six feet off the stage. Lynham was employed as a stagehand and rigger for the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Local No. 3, according to court documents obtained by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Lynham claims he broke his arm and injured his back and hip during the tumble. He is seeking more than $25,000 as compensation for his multiple surgeries, which included the implantation of metal rods and screws in his arm. Attorneys for Lynham and the band have not commented on the pending litigation.

The lawsuit comes as the Dave Matthews Band return to the Pittsburgh area this weekend for two shows at the First Niagara Pavilion in Burgettstown. The group’s current tour continues through July 21, followed by a new leg starting in late September, not long after the guys release ‘Away From the World,’ their 8th studio album, featuring the lead single ‘Mercy.’
