The Dallas Cowboys just took a huge hit on defense, losing cornerback Orlando Scandrick for the season after injuring his knee.

According to ESPN, Scandrick tore both the anterior cruciate (ACL) and medial collateral ligaments (MCL) in his right knee while defending a pass against rookie receiver Lucky Whitehead.

Cowboys safety, Barry Church immediately called for trainers to attend to Scandrick who already knew the extent of his injury.

"He said immediately, 'It's my ACL. I know it. It's gone,'" secondary coach Jerome Henderson said after practice. [ESPN]

With Scandrick out, that leaves Carr, Claiborne, fourth-year player Corey White, undrafted second-year player Tyler Patmon and Byron Jones in the secondary.
