Recently, the Seattle Police revealed a note found in Kurt Cobain‘s wallet at the scene of his death. The sarcastic take on wedding vows raised many questions, including speculation over who actually penned the over 20-year-old note. Now, it’s been confirmed by Courtney Love herself that she was the one who put pen to paper.

The Seattle Police have steadily been releasing evidence from Kurt Cobain’s death scene around the 20-year anniversary of the Nirvana singer’s apparent suicide. Numerous photos from Cobain’s death scene were suddenly unveiled by the Seattle Police, reportedly to prepare for media attention surrounding Cobain’s grim anniversary. A partial clip of the note was made public on April 29, while the full version came via Grungebook on May 1.

The piece of paper reads:

Do you Kurt Cobain take Courtney Michelle Love to be your lawful shredded wife, even when she’s a b-tch with zits and siphoning all [your] money for doping and whoring. Will you promise to f— her at least once a week, O.K.

Noted Kurt Cobain biographer Charles R. Cross, who penned the popular Cobain book, ‘Heavier Than Heaven,’ claimed Love had sent over an email taking credit for the note, which Love gave to Cobain before the two wed in 1991. Finally, Love has come out herself confirming that she was indeed the one behind the note.

“Obviously I wrote it – don’t you guys understand sarcasm?” Love asks The Guardian. The Hole frontwoman went on to criticize the media’s treatment of the story, stating, “It endangers me, and it endangers [my daughter] Frances [Bean Cobain].”

Recently, Courtney Love has been attempting to reunite Hole, while releasing music of her own at the same time. To check out Love’s new video for ‘You Know My Name,’ click here.
